I always make seasonal banners for Hue. It helps to show Hue when season’s are changing. I always try to make him involved with the banners. Usually I have him do all the painting and I do all the cutting. It helps us both be creative together. Hue’s attention span is still pretty limited but I watch it grow all the time and I know soon we will be spending hours together creating things!

Fall Leaf Banner Supplies:

  • Free Leaf Template (Made for 12 x 18 paper)
  • 12″ x 18″ Card stock Paper
  • Washable Paint + Paint Brushes
  • Scissors
  • String
  • Double-Sided Tape
  • Hole Puncher

Above is the template side and below is the back so there is some color if you are looking at the backside through the window.

How to make Fall Leaf Banner:

Print free leaf template. Have your toddler paint with fall colors both sides (so you see color if hanging in a window).

Have an adult cut out the leaves. Hole punch two holes at the top. (I have found that two holes make the leaves or whatever your hanging hang better than if you only punch one hole).

String the banner and hang in your window or wherever you want!

I had some leftover leaves so I added some double-sided tape and had Hue hang them up on the window in our living room. I let Hue hang them however he wants. I am not too precious about it. I just want to have the leaves up so Hue knows we are entering a new season!
