What is not a better marriage than chocolate and peanut butter? It is one of my favorite sweet combinations! It couldn’t be easier to make. All you need is:
Chocolate (use your fav – mine is milk chocolate)
Peanut Butter (I used on of my favorites)
Candy Mold (optional – I used one similar to this.)
If you are using a mold just melt the chocolate in the microwave in 10 second increments until melted and smooth. Fill the mold bottoms 1/4 of the way, put it in the fridge to set for about an hour or two or until they are firm.
Then spread your favorite peanut butter on top of the set chocolate. Melt more chocolate to cover the peanut butter. Put back in fridge to set for another hour or two or until they easily pop out of the candy mold.
If you don’t want to buy a mold you can use a half sheet and line it with parchment paper. Take your melted chocolate and put a thin layer in whatever shape you want. I would try to do a rectangular shape or a square. Set in the fridge for two hours. Then spread your peanut butter and cover with the rest of the melted chocolate. Set for another two hours or until firm to the touch.
When breaking up you can try to cut in bars but there will probably be a lot of breakage and they won’t look perfect. You could also just break it up like you would chocolate bark. You essential are making a peanut butter and chocolate bark anyways!
Then enjoy. Sharing is optional.
I love making homemade galentine bars for Valentine’s day! I made these rice + milk chocolate bars last year. My girlfriends and I were going to see a movie and I brought them to the movies for all of us to have a sweet snack!
But you don’t have to wait for a holiday to make these. They are good anytime of the year!
