Valentine’s day is upon us in two short days. If you love making chocolate bars and you like quick and easy, than I have the recipe for you!
This recipe only needs two ingredients…. chocolate + toasted rice cereal. It is a like a Nestlé crunch bar but better. I prefer milk but I wouldn’t hesitate to split equal parts milk chocolate and semi- sweet or a dark chocolate… yum. So this is what I did:
I bought a bag of these + a box of these. I poured the chocolate chips in a bowl and microwaved the chips in 30 second intervals, taking the bowl out each time and stirring till smooth. About 3 of these 30 second intervals gave me the consistency I wanted. Then I poured about 1 and a 1/2 cups of the toasted rice cereal. I mixed until all the cereal was covered in chocolate, add a little more cereal if I thought the chocolate was too bare.
Then I spread the chocolate/toasted rice cereal in a mold, (I got one similar here – I think this is actually a better deal than what I bought! I think I paid around the same but only got one.) and pressed pretty hard to make sure I was letting the chocolate fill out the mold. I put it in the fridge over night and they were perfect the next morning.
I wrapped them in some parchment paper and decided they needed a label! So, I made a quick one right before I was going to see my girlfriends.
This is how it turned out:
Not so bad for only having a half hour to make, print, cut-out with an x-acto knife, and wrap! They were a hit snack for during our movie!
Happy Galentine’s Day!
