If you are a maker like me, you probably have tons of extra odd and ends you HAVE to keep, but don’t know where to store them. As I have gotten older, simplicity has become super important. The need to keep that pretty ribbon is still there but now I have a drawer for it, with it’s own name!
I have slowly acquired the above cabinets out of necessity. For the white cabinet, I would seriously open every drawer any time I was looking for something! Than is NINE drawers too many of rummaging through things! I was always annoyed by it but it wasn’t until I goth the smaller green cabinet, that came with flimsy white paper name tags (that kept falling out) that I realized I could make my own! So, of course I took the lazy way out and looked for cute stickers at first. I needed a specific size for each cabinet so the reality of making my own became clear.
For the nine-drawer white cabinets, my name tags were able to be quite bigger, 3″ wide x 2″ tall. Since the cabinet is white I felt it was appropriate to add a lot of color in the border I designed.
For the smaller, 6 drawer, green cabinet I had to make the name tags fit in the name tag holders. These were more specific in measurements, 2″ wide x .85″ tall. I still had to trim the sides a hair to make them fit.
I adhered the name tags with double sided tape but I added these colorful “raindrop” stickers for an extra pop of color!
I slipped these two smaller name tags into their little “name tag” holders. I later added little gold triangles at the top for a pop. My opinion is you can never have too many gold accents.
