The last dining chairs we had, I got from Craigslist for $50 bucks for four side chairs. I refurbished them and liked them for about maybe 6 months. They were never really right for the table. They were super wobbly, too high and too wide for the table we had at the time.  We only just got rid of them when we moved here. (Which has only been three months! Time is flying by!) Yet we kept them for ten years! I know that whatever we buy we will have for a while so what we decide on matters!

Another thing that really helps is a curated mood board. The search can feel a bit endless at times so putting things that appeal to you in a collective whole really helps one to narrow down a decision. I was looking for an airy, mid-century modern vibe. My main concern was comfort! I also was also starting to lean towards taking some of my favorites and mixing and matching them with some of my husbands favorites. It was a concept that took me a while to get my head around but once I did, I really started to like the combo idea… a lot!

I tried to guess what would be the top winners in my home! I was kind of on track…

Then I started to make “couples” out of some of the choices to get an idea if I liked the idea of mixing and matching two different kinds of chairs. Once I saw the mix of the two different styles together, I was able to see what it was that I really wanted. My husband was inspired by all my researching and he found 17 and 18. I really like 18. They seem like really good middle chairs. Plus the price on 18 is so right!

At this point i kept changing my mind. I kind of fell in love with this chair from here. They were way more pricier than 18, but wasn’t sure if the quality was better for the extra cost. For a set of two they were about $180 more… We decided to “sit” on it for a while until we figured out what we really wanted. Stay tuned to see what we ended up buying!
