One of my favorite all-time diy’s to make! It’s pretty inexpensive and easy to make. I got the idea from here but I have seen a version of this all over Instagram. I was intrigued to try it out and it was honestly a lot of fun. So much fun that I made a reel to go with it! Here is what you will need to try one of your own:
SUPPLIES:
Bowls and cups (I got mine here and here they come in a ton of different colors/sizes and honestly I was close to just skipping the painting part and calling the project done because the colors are nice)
Primer Spray Paint (Don’t think this is necessary, if you want to skip this part you can. I primed mine but there are a few chips here and there which is why I am questioning the primer.)
Textured Spray Paint – Any color you like! I used this brand and color.
Glue (I either used this or something similar.)
A tarp or cardboard for spray painting
HOW TO MAKE:
You need a space/area that can handle over spray from spray paint and that you can leave out while drying between spray paint coats. I used my parents backyard because we live in a condo and don’t really have a space for this.
First, glue the bottom of the bowl to the bottom of the cup and let dry.
Then place the pedestal on a tarp or big piece of cardboard and spray with primer spray paint. (I also think you can skip this part.)
Once you have a nice even coat of primer you can spray paint with texture spray paint. I used many coats until I felt like it was evenly coated. And I sprayed far enough away so that I avoided paint puddling up.
Once the final coat was dry the pedestal is ready for your shelf and keys! Or jewelry or knick-knacks!
(Do you see the green chipped part at the bottom? Another coat of texture spray paint will fix that.)
Happy crafting!
