I love the big impact an engineer print can make to a room. It is so easy to do! I loved the idea of this when I came across this company, Parabo Press. They make engineer prints + a bunch of other fun ways to bring your photos to life. I really like this and this from them too! I was having trouble filling up my walls, I was being super indecisive on what should be displayed. Once I came across these engineer prints I thought I would give it a try.

I chose a photo from the summer. I love this tiny moment in time and I remember the day well. If you squint, my husband is one of those black dots near the horizon line, waiting for the next wave to submerge. I remember that day vividly, we went to the beach in Malibu on a Wednesday night when the surf was unusually good. Then we stopped for margaritas and tacos here before we headed home. We try to do this at least once each summer taking advantage of the light.

I saw that the print needed a little weight at the bottom so that it wouldn’t curl. I went to my favorite hardware store and had wood cut to the width I needed.

I stained the wood first, then I sprayed a coat of clear semi-gloss polyurethane. Once the clear coat dried I used a spray adhesive to attach the wood to the print at the top and the bottom. I attached a thin string by hammering two tiny nails, evenly spaced at the top of the wood frame but in the back so not visible and tied the string to the nails. Then I nailed a small nail into the wall and hung the engineer print. Easy peasy.

If we get bored we can easily switch out this print with a new image. Big impact, low costs.
