We ♥ books! We spend a lot of weekends making a big pile to purchase with Hue in some of our favorite bookstores. We read every single night and Hue is often handing me a book to read to him. After almost three years of collecting children’s books here are our favorites!
We are huge Mac Barnett (Author) and Jon Klassen (Illustrator) fans. We have the Triangle, Square and Circle (Shape Trilogy) books which are super cute.
We also have Sam and Dave Dig a Hole by the duo.
Jon Klassen also has some books created all by him. We absolutely love this series and it comes with a print which we framed and hung immediately right next to all the books. (It’s the print above the wooden rainbow.) The Hat Box includes three books: I Want My Hat Back,
This Is Not My Hat, and We Found a Hat. The last one is my personal favorite.
What Will Grow? was given to us by an artist/friend and it is one of my favorite books ever. It is so beautifully illustrated and it has cool pull-outs of all kinds of veggies/fruits/trees that grow! I read it to Hue all the time. This duo has a second book called What Will Hatch? which we love too. This one has cool cut outs of the shape of things that will grow.
We have this giant book called City. We love it. She has a lot of other cool looking books too!
We love The Ultimate Book of… series. We have The Ultimate Book of Cities and The Ultimate Book of AIRPLANES and AIRPORTS. There are so many more books in this series. What we love about this series is that the book is interactive with pulls and doors.
This little board book is one of Hue’s very first books! I think we got it at Hue’s baby shower. It’s a very sweet book and at the end baby Hue would give the little gorilla a kiss. ♥
This is a book we picked up on one of our trips from the Descanso Garden’s gift shop. Grow is an adorable and beautiful book with gorgeous flower slide outs. When you are done with the book the top of the book looks like a beautiful bouquet!
This is another book from Descanso Garden’s gift shop. It’s a cute, whimsical book about the forest with cute illustrations.
This Opposite Surprise book is so cute. The pages extend to show the surprise! It’s super cute and Hue loves it.
I got this book for Hue at another museum gift shop at the Getty Villa. I love a museum gift shop! I loved this because it was about love but shown through famous works of art. So, it’s a way to introduce art too. It looks like it’s a part of a series.
We had to get Hue this book! It’s all about hues with a taste of hippie whimsy. It’s a beautiful book and if you hold it up to the light you can really see all the colors in their best light.
This book is beautiful and is shown in the middle picture, it is the book that looks like a globe. It is a beautiful book that shows different parts of the world.
We have a couple of books from TouchThinkLearn. This one if a favorite and absolutely gorgeous. We love this ABC book. It’s definitely a book shelf star.
Hue loves this book! It has a ton of flaps that you lift and he loves the surprise. It has a lot of great learning opportunities too.
This book is very cute and also has a lot of learning opportunities too.
Love a book about flowers. This book might be a little for me than Hue but I read it to him and I LOVE it!
This book is all about gardening and the different seasons and what you do in each one. I love this book!
This is a newer book in our collection and I absolutely love it. It’s adorable and the illustrations are superb. I love that the artist shows herself in her home. It’s very cute.
This book is so sweet. It is so whimsical. We ask him a ton of questions with this book. It’s one of my favorites.
Goodnight Moon is a classic. I got the really big board book version of this. Hue loves it. It is all tattered from reading it over and over again.
The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle is a classic I remember discovering for the first time when I was little. I remember being mesmerized by all the beautiful pictures. We have a ton of Eric Carle books that we love and enjoy.
